I'd like to get some opinions on the best parts to use for my rebuild of a 6 port 13b from my GSL-SE. It is going to be turboed and I'd like to beef it up as much as possible using any parts (oil metering, bearings, housings, eccentric shaft etc) that can be taken from a '93 FD motor (I've been given the parts car).

Can/should I use the FD rotors since they are lower compression (9.0:1 vs 9.4:1)?

Anyone out there running a turbo on the 9.4:1 compression have a octane recommendations and/or dyno info?

To sum this up, I have a complete 6port 13b and a complete FD parts car. I'd like to use any beefier/better parts from the FD motor in my 6port, which will be turboed in this project. I understand some of the FD internals are hardened and might be better to use, I just don't know which ones fit. So, if you had the two motors (and any other parts) and wanted to end up with a better than stock, turboed 6port, what would you do?

me? id just use the whole fd motor.

Whoops, I forgot to mention that using the whole FD motor is not an option for my project...at least not yet. If I run into an absolute impass going the way I want to go, then I'll consider it.

well basically you wanna use the rotors, stat bearings and eshaft in the gsl-se block then. thats pretty much all you can do.

or you can put the -se front cover on the fd motor and throw it in...

just fix the fd...

I'm guessing you mean the rotors, bearings and eshaft from the FD? Cool, that's what I needed to know. Just to satisfy the curious, I'm pretty sure the rotor housings from the FD are trashed, while my six port is fine. I also have a bit of a sentimental attachment to the SE motor... So yeah, it doesn't make sense, but that's what I'm doing and I'm pretty excited about the eventual results.

Thanks for the info. Anyone else?

Those GSL-SE ports are friggin tiny. You have lots of porting ahead of you. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

use the 12a end plates and port them to fd size
