Whats the normal limits for a stock 3rd gen turbo engine? The mods my friend is planing are full exhaust header to muffler no cat, swich to external wategete and increase boost, Bigger injectors, fuel pump and a spearco intercooler. bigger turbos https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif . What should the boost level be set around? Im not fimilar with rotary engine strength.

umm, the sky is the limit. you are just saying random things..................... most high hp rotaries on the street are 500rwhp....
|
Well after you upgrade the rods and pistons, you could get over 400rwhp out of it. With the stock block, he will likely blow it up with an external wastegate on the twins.
Your sentence makes no sense. Does your friend have an RX7? If so then he needs to post a more accurate list than that. |

well since the only aftermarket parts you can buy for a rotary (within almost reasonable prices) are e-shaft and apex seals. I'd have to say that they're VERY strong.
However you can have twisting, but that can be solved by adding a couple extra dowelpinns |
Stock internals are good to 1400 hp
|
Stock internals are good to 1400 hp :bsflag: OMG!! What a lie. I am pushing well over 1800hp with my stock twins set to 90psi! And thats on regular unleaded too!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif |
yeah, I've heard that a cat-back exhaust will get your hp over 1000
|
Lets not be a jackass to this guy, we all at one point we're in his shoes. But yes we need some more info about yours friends car. We need to know which turbos, which parts etc. And no fds use headers, since they are all turbocharged, headers are for n/a cars. With that amount of mods ppl usually uprgrade the engine internally, hardend gears, dowel pinned etc. So not many ppl have pushed the stock internals.

So how much can a internally stock T2 take???I see no answers to it.Just some smart ass comments
|
Internally stock? I don't know about how much the stock ports can flow but they say 400hp before it needs dowelpinned which isn't a promised braking point.
But the rest of the internals (rotors, apex seals, e-shaft, housings, etc) are good for a lot more than 400hp |
stock block and stock port etc 400 hp with out breaking if the fuel is tunned right and your not running too much ign advance...

Thanks Dragon. That should answer that question for TurbOracer. What more internally would it take for T2 engine to hit 500 at the flywheel?Or is it just easier to use a RE engine to hit it?It's either that or go all out with a 20b and mods. :bigthumg:

It would be easier to hit it wiht a RE engine due to the larger primary and secondary port size then use FD rotor housings with a decent side port and large exaust port. I would also drop in some Atikins apex seals and run stock corner seals with the rubber stopper peice removed from them. This should hold 500hp for a good amount of time, but anytime your pushing lots of hp engine life will be reduced do to the added stress from higher chamber pressures that will cause accelerated wear and tear on the rotor housings, seals and bearings.. In my experiance a 500 hp engine that is built well will last about a year if it is pushed hard often...

i thought that 13b meant 13billion HP capabilities......
