Long Term Effects Of Solid Corner Seals Vs Normal
#11
now WHICH solid corner seals are good to use?
i've only taken one motor apart that had solid corner seals in it that didn't have at lease 2-3 broken.
i don't know what brands any of them were--i didn't put the motors together, but it'd be nice to see if there is a particular brand that breaks more often.

the factory mazda parts would only fit a 3mm seal engine. 1011-11-321 is the part number, i think

I have seen more broken aftermarket solid corner seals than stock corner seals. I have also witnessed first hand the wear that can occur from using bad aftermarket corner seals. I have seen 2 brands of aftermarket solid corner that have lasted. They are Scoot and the goofy double spring Hurley's, but you have to get rid of the double springs(weak flatten out) and use stock springs. The reason most aftermarket solid corners are crap are because they don't radius the corners of the apex seal groove and/or they are made of inferior metal. Good luck, I stick with stock and no rubber piece.
igy... the exaple on the right is the stock corner seal with the rubber peice taken out right? and left would be an aftermarket solid one?

The one on the right is like a Scoot corner seal. Stock would be one big circle at the buttom for the rubber plug.
I would say if you got them from Mazda they are fine.
