Was wondering if anyone had input on a n/a manifold for torque.

This will be on a stock s4 6port w/ megasquirt.

Stick w/ stock manifold? I plan to keep 6ports working.

Was thining about maybe some 4x 40mm crotch rocket ITB's, or some dual TWMs

But I want lots of torque and midrange, do I just look for the longest intake runners?

How does the placement of the throttlebody itself matter, should i have them near the motor, or at the top.....

Thanks,

Ben Martin

my vote: DCOE-style manifold with appropriate-szed throttle body.

diabolica1: is DCOE a downdraft and IDA a sidedraft? correct?

had another brainstorm.

Stock 6port LIM, custom UIM that is 4 pieps, w/ the 2 primaries combining into one, and going straight up, and then mate the stock throttlebody on top, and put a shaker or some hood ram air,

im thinking like a muscle car w/ a cowl or shaker, also like a old v8 w/ a ram jet intake manifold or whatever theyre called. the super high intake manifolds for huge torque...

also had the idea of making the intake manifold come out further before making that huge bend straight up. come out a few inchs and make a gradual bend like a PPort sidedraft manifold would.

Come to think of it, kahren already did this but with his TB by the strut tower.......hmmmm

.in my opinion it sounds like a big investment for very little return.

I think its only going to help to a point then it will start to destroy torque all together...plus wont you be destroying the dynamic supercharging effect of the stock manifold?

when i first read your question, i was immediately going to suggest that you look for Kahren's setup and mimic it, but then you mentioned the motorcycle TBs, so i thought you were decided on not using the stock parts.

i think you should try what Kahren did with his, especially since you're going with a standalone.

Honestly. I'm not sure what I'm asking for either.

Probably some internet person to tell me everything will be alright so I can sleep at night!

Actually just looking for some cool looking replacements for the stock intake setup that works nicely

Preferably something that isnt on every other rotary (sidedraft or rb holley or stock EFI).

Who knows!

If youre going standalone, just fab up your own intake. A lot of people dont realize you can do amazing things with composites.
