I think 90% of your problem was the stock efi. I agree that the intake may have been a choking point but I still bet it will be a screamer compared to the street port even with the stock intake.

The Haltech is for my turbo motor so its not a plan its a reality. I am just doing this project to show all the armchiar engineers that they are full of ****. I think your reversion theorys are way way off but we shal see. With the stock efi you barely even began to experience what the port could do and you also multiplied the effects of any problems the stock intake would have becuase of the shitty efi. I mean my god look at the timing alone. Also, why does Ito say that the car he built was fast when you say yours sucked. Either Ito was lying or someone did not get thier **** back toguter right. Which is it?

ok cool. make the metering pump, bac valve, and the 2 emission solenoids work.

injector resolution should be better than .001ms, fully sequential, maybe with a 3 stage staging setup. ignition needs to have enough outputs to run a 20b, with full split. let me use any ignition pickup i want. onboard wideband o2.

or just match the stock rx8 ecu, and make it tuneable
Do you really understand why you need those particular specs?

Given you ask for 1us resolution, 20B timing and then same spec as the RX8 unit that can't run a 20B I am less than convinced.

On Ito's car, it was a S4. The AFM has A LOT more range. My afm is maxed by 5k rpm. I dont know if my engine could even max out the afm on a S4. Also, the itnake manifold isnt as much of a restriction. The runners are longer also. And all 6 ports were bridged.

Since you are so set that Im wrong about the acoustics of the VDI manifold, why dont you post what you think is really happening.

And where the hell did you get 90% from? I know the stock ecu sucks, but you have much less personal experience than me, and you dont believe in the physics behind all this. Yet youre quotnig numbers on my engine.

So anyways aside from the argueing thing.

A kid at my school has a race car. His engine has ITB's but instead of having the butterfly thing in it its got plates that slide off to the side so at WOT there is no restriction whatsoever. Has anyone heard of this?

Yeah. Its called slide throttles. (original name, huh?) Some of the guys runnign all motor rotaries are using them on their PP engines. At WOT, there is nothing blocking the intake tract like with a typical throttle. But its very much a race part, they arent as good at low throttle. Sealing problems result in whats basically a permanent vacuum leak.

I agree... download the movies of the 300HP brideport on the dyno... Horn.. pure horn.. that's all I have to say

300hp@10Krpm.. pretty decent effort in anyones books.

In fact there is a new IPRA race car up here with a rohan ambrose built 13b brideport in it, (allegedly 300hp jobbie) and all I have to say is WOW, it hauls, i'm not certain how much this particular engine puts down that i'm talking about, but wow, it really does have some speed to it.

But yes, I feel everyone here in this thread should have a read of that thread to have a better understanding of some tried and tested inlet ideas before posting more stuff in this thread again.. Great read, that is all

(ps, yes i realise there were way to many 'threads' in that last sentance... )
