Can someone show me a picture of a Half-bridge 6 port housing/plate? Also, when you half BP the intake, what size of port should the exhaust be? Just a heavy streetport? I'm building another engine for my NA right now, and am debating this half BP....I was just going with a heavy SP, but...

If you are going too do a bridgeport,do all four ports because the engine gets the overlap no matter where the bridge slot is.but the more overlap you have, the harder it is on the tubo.because of the pulses created from overlap, the turbo is not spinning in a linear motion, therfore it is not efficient, and will burn up the bearings, and the impeller from the extra heat of the exhaust caused by overlap. i run a peripheral port on the street,as well as dragrace.EGT's at full throttle are 1800 degrees, 6 in from the exh port.

Regarding the turbo the clips holding the bearings in place went missing and the bearings "walked" along the shaft causing it to wobble resulting in both wheels making contact with the housings.

"Half bridge" is used to discribe when you bridge only half the number of ports , you can have a half bridge if you only bridge the primarys ,You dont normally bridge the primarys on a street car 'cause it is more beneficial to do a street port and keep some low down torque and economy since the "port velocity" is kept higher (because of the smaller port area of the sp versus the bp ) and no you dont NEED a 1/2 bridge but if you WANT more power than the average sp can give ,you better get it or do a pp or a some combination. You can get a bigger turbo but will soon reach the limit 'cause you just cant go BIG on a turbo with a street port without excessive lag.

As for the overheating thing..........., I dont know about that , I have an AUTOMETER pyro that reads up to 1200deg F , and I have only seen 800deg max with the probe mounted about 6" from the outlet of the turbine .
