A Warrenty is only as good as the company that stands behind it. Read the WARRENTY carefully. In order to have that warrenty to be valid (IF I RECALL CORRECTLY) is:

You must provide proof of a flushed oil cooler (to perform properly is $125-$175)

Proof of flushed or new radiator

Proof of NEW Hoses

Proof of Oil Changes

All hoses were replaced, all fluids as well, the oil cooler was new, oil changes were performed religiously, and the car was NEVER run hard, never over 6K rpm, and never raced. I went out of my way to make sure the engine idled for a minute or two EVERY time I was done driving, it NEVER overheated or even ran hot, and was NEVER more than a pint low on oil. The attitude with the company that supplied me this engine was that they are superior, don't do anything wrong, and their professional workmanship would never fail like this. They offered me NOTHING, except a hard time and my engine back in four boxed and a hundred or more pieces. The repair quote was almost $1500, almost the cost to replace it.

please re-read the web site - www.rotaryatkins.com, or www.atkinsrotarys.com .... the engine was bought and installed just before Summer '03, and only lasted <11K miles before the catastrofic failure, even tho it was treated as if it was built from emu egg shells ( my wife raises Emu ) !!

you might want to change the serveral instances of rotaraRkins to rotaryaTkins, yer getting upset with people for not reading a site they can't reach

A warranty is pretty much up to the vendor, aside from that it's just a piece of paper, there's a lot of people here who have been through similar deals with other vendors. I'd say your prolly screwed they obviously don't plan on replacing it.

keep plugging away at em, they will eventually do something.

i know of a shop that used atkins rebuilds, and they dont anymore. the final straw was a motor where atkins screwed up a side housing, put the engine together anyways and sent it out. the motor put 1900ppm of unburned gas out of the OIL FILLER, so the motor got sent back, and atkins admitted to putting it together with a bad side housing, but then didnt want to pay the warranty claim.....

think about that. they put together a motor they KNEW was bad, sent it out anyways, and then dont want to pay for the labor to put it in and take it back out again.

they could have just used another side housing, then a) they would still be selling motors to that customer, and b) they wouldnt have this story for me to type on the internet.
