hey guys, I recently had the coolant seals go out on my 87 NA. I really like the car, and would love to get it running again. It looks like I will be able to afford to rebuild it. So I ordered the instructional video from Atkins Rotary. I will get started (or postpone) after I watch the video.

As this is my first build, is are there any pro tips that are indispensable? Any tools that are real lifesavers?

I also watched this video http://www.rebuildingrotaryengines.com apparently, coolant seal failures can be very destructive. Should I expect to buy new housings as well?

And finally, since it will be all apart, I was thinking of getting it ported by Rotary Performance up in Garland, TX. But I have heard mixed reports about porting a 6 port engine. Anyone want to throw in their thoughts?

Wish me luck!

I seriously suggest you check this link http://jhbperformance.com/ Send your housings to be ground and coated, It will be cheaper than new housings and much better than the crome plating that Mazda has used since the 60s.
