ponder the pricing, fd rotors $510, rx8 rotors $300?, s4 t2, 534....

to pay frieght (assuming you dont want to wait for the boat), my 10%, etc etc a mazda reman motor is only 300-400 more, and it comes with new seals!

They have to re-jig for every different series of rotor/housing/iron etc etc, so they let stock run out before going into a production run for each part. That wont be it for s4 rotors, just it for that stock. When it runs out they will make more...

I ordered a new set of s4 irons from Japan, I have to wait to feb9 for the intermediate housing to ship since its in production run right now.

well normally id agree with you, but these have a flag on em, we actually cant order em. usually they just go on back order.

that and they have phased out all of the pre 79 stuff, and they are working on the rest of the 12a parts.

also doesnt help that they are making the rx8 motors, less time for everything else

That has to be something with Mazda usa or your dealer network choosing not to stock anymore, we get the same thing occasionally in Canada, then you got to Japan and its still available. There was also a rumor floating around about them discontinuing rotor housings for certain 13b's, which turned out to be bunk. When I was over there I checked into parts availability, in Japan you can still buy 10a parts to rebuild your 67 cosmo 110 sport if you want...

8.5:1 rotors are probably the most popular rotor sold over there, they are a commonly ordered item, can't see them discontinuing it, considering about 80% of all FD motors are rebuilt with those rotors. I know you can still get all the 12a stuff there, in december last year we pulled apart a 12a turbo for overhaul and it was no problem getting any of the parts either, including irons, housings and rotors.

yeah we've run into that too. we had a customer order thousands of dollars worth of jc cosmo stuff. the stuff that mazda usa had, they sent, the rest they told us "wasnt available anymore". so our customer went to japan, walked into a dealership and paid less and actually bought something.

if i seem like i continously bitch about mazdausa, its because they want us to sell more, but then they dont feel like selling us parts. i've worked at a dealer since 97, so i have plenty of instances like this, its annoying. especially since for jc cosmo parts, he can wait for the boat. oh and then of course some people they would order the parts for, but heaven forbid sell mazda parts to a mazda dealer.

lol, i'm in a good mood today, jeez
