the rotor almost looks like it took a chunk off the housing

i dunno if sean cleaned the rotor and housing, but it looks cleaner than what i expected

Nothing has been cleaned, that is exactly as the motor was pulled apart, carbon and all. If you look at the rotor, when the seal broke it went into the side you really cannot see and dented the tip of the rotor then as the rotor came around and smashed it into the housing it buried a piece into the rotor (the shiny spec you can see) I removed the two sections around the dent so Martin could see what is stuck and why the rotor is bad.

these are the plates, very clean with minimal wear, I will try to get some better pics today, Wife used the camera most of the day and I ran out of batteries.

How many miles were on this when it went? Is that normal carbon build up?

Martin this is your opportunity to do something custom.. Like higher compression rotors from an FC or something?

30k is what Martin told me, it is a factory re-man engine. And on all the engines i have seen, that is normal.

why did it blow, why is the oil so dark

the rear rotor blew, for not sure what reason..... maybe either ignition or bad injector.



the oil is so black cuz i drove it home for 45 mins with 1 rotor

I see stock ports and I start to visualize my die grinder cutting into to them. I think I need a rotary engine rehab center. :-)

You just need more hours in the day Ito, then you could port them all day long, and I can pull them... as fast as you get them done and to me, the faster we would all be :P
