I was porting the intermediate housing and the trip of the carbide burr broke off causing me scratch up the surface of the housing a little. Look at the picture and tell me if thats useable or there is anything I can do to fix it. This one is an S5 TII housing, but I do have some S4 NA housings, so maybe I can use those instead.

I had similar concerns about my intermediate plate which developed a small surface rust after I had it machined. But I think your plate doesn't look good. How deep are the marks?

Maybe if the surface were flat it would not affect the motion of the rotor, but I'm not expert.

I'd use it. Take a razor blade and feel how tall the metal bits are, and shave them down untill they're gone. It won't be as perfect of a sealing surface for the side seals, but it beats having to do another intermediate plate. It's up to you.

Enough to feel the difference. You'll have to put it on an engine dyno to get real numbers though.

It all depends on how deep they are, if you can catch a finger nail on it the plate is done. Next time put duck tape over the rest of the plate to prevent those accidents.
