Really? It looks to me that the closing side is just a tad over stock, width too.

Where are you guys getting your stud kits?

it is a tad wider and raised just a bit to where it would not be a problem .

the stud kits like erdin said maszdatrix http://www.mazdatrix.com/studkit.htm or xtreme rotaries http://www.xtremerotaries.com/main2.htm from australia its where I am getting mines from.

Maybe there used for extreme high revs or boost? I’m sure they would of looked better if they were finished. I personally would like to hear from people who use them and their experiences with such a ports .

I have used all types of ports since 1992 and the ones I pictured above simply work the best in my testing, be they run on Peripheral Port or on my Street Port (you can see pics).

I have torque curves and actual peak engine speeds for tq and hp, also power per boost and its the reason I keep this style now.

Funny enough I found a very old article showing A&L Mazda FD3S from 1997 and they ran pretty much 100% my exhaust porting style ! If I get a chance I will scan it for you all and post it up, the other interesting thing was the tq characteristic was replicated perfectly too.

People who are saying overlap is no god, sadly have not much of an idea

Let me see if i have this right, do they work so well because they open and close so eruptly causing a sonic pulse that can drive the turbine wheel with alot more torque allowing for more power. i was told that if the closing edge of the exhaust ports are to straight the apex seals could be damaged but this would suggest other wise. could you please expand on the subject more and thanks for the pictures Rice.

Sorry forgot about this thread, the straight edge increases the dynamic charge and when combined with street port and a beveled rotor you get the same Ve as a BP motor but without the draw backs and its less sensitive to higher EMP/IMP ratio's.

Never had a problem with them on any type of seal, the rotor is at its maximum swing angle anyway at that point and it has zero problem riding over that, on the intake side if you have a PP the seal it tilted over the other way (like a chisel) and it can develop some funny wear patterns, this does not occur on the exhaust port as the swing angle is the other way and the seal is dragged over the port rather than into it.

I am personally wondering what would be the best exhaust port for a peripheral port turbo engine?

should I go with the port posted above? or even a bit wider to help with back pressure?
