So with some minor modification to the shifter hole, you could technically make it work in an FC correct? Or does nothing match up under the car?

you could hog it out, but the shifter would be almost in the radio....

Sounds like the shifter would pop up perfect in a SA or very close in a FB.

Cool!

A shifter in the radio!

Just like a civic si hatch!

2 inches shouldn't be that far off. i'm sure you could build a shifter handle that would work. heck my camaro tranny's shifter is about 2 inches foward and rotated 26*.

woah, not sure why this got dug up but it's probably good considering there have been some recent debates about swapping it in. personally, i like the 6-speed after a test drive of an 8, and would really like to try it out attached to an rew

yeah me too! and actually i should add that the 2009 Rx-8 got a variant of the P type trans thats in the 2006+ miata. so there IS a rotary bellhousing for that one

nice! i need to find a trans for my fb. 2nd gear synchro is nearly gone. it's only still operating because i have been double clutching 2nd
