I think we are good there for the most part.



Im ready to play with E85. Its gonna change the tunning world big time since stoich will be at 9.8 for straight E85. But for the most part it will be good for us. Eventually.

105 octane....



9.8 is stoic? jeez imagine the injectors you need for that

9.8 is stoic so it's actually way less economical than petrol. You'd get like 50 miles per tank like the hydrogen Rx-8's.

Right, for E85 acording to that Wiki page. But I think we will see a variety of different ethanol/gasoline blends once it gets popular.

I did all the math for this recently and decided that gas would need to go up to like $5/gal while E85 stayed the same to get the same bang for your buck.



The octane is prett cool though...If you compare it on an octane basis its about $3 cheaper per gal if your comparing it to racegas.



Wideband gets recalibrated so I dont think the 9.8 is all that relative to how much you burn.



You do need to burn more per mile but not so much you run out of fuel delivery capacity on a rotary.



Had a friend running that stuff on an na with a webber carb. Smelled like popcorn with his premixin He changed his jetting a fair bit and had no problems after that.

I think alot of the worthwhile of E85 may also depend upon core changes to the engine such as static compression ratio, etc. As Greg already stated, the octane benefits alone seem to be justifiable when it comes to cost and consumption.

With the high octane and the cooling effect on the intake charge making 30-40psi boost on a rotary a reliable proposition I think the GT series of compressors will be the hot ticket since they are more efficient at these higher pressure ratios.



Higher compression rotors won't hurt either.



How will E85 affect EGTs? That could help us get into the VGT turbo scene as well...

From what i recall the E85 runs much cooler than reg gas.. dont remember the numbers tho...



These guys are now running over 1400hp and are chasing the 7 on the track.. best so far 8.08
