Curtis Wright and later with the same engines, John Deer did this years ago in giant shipboard generator sets, in the 1,300 HP range. Also it was a multi fuel engine.



Better than the old Fairbanks Morse/Colt industries Opposed Piston 2 cycles from the 1920s, but the Navy didn't bite. So there are still one or two OPs on every new submarine.

I used to run and maintain those Fairbanks Morse ND 8 1/8's! So did my dad, he had to completely overhaul one on the James K. Polk in the late 60's when a NUB tried to restart one after a false start. Guess what? Water is essentially incompressable, OP dont take well to being turned into pumps
