So as one of the mods of this new section I feel obligated to be a serious contributor so first let me detail how my contributions will go.

When I fab stuff I tend to always draw and mock things up a lot when I finally finish it I also make measurements and detail them as we all know what you plan, as you're doing it, will sometimes have to adapt to unseen problems. SO what I'm going to do is basically make my steps and the final drawings public. I'll show you exactly how I do what I do and then at the end I'll provide you with as close to a blueprint to replicate it as possible.

My first example is of a popular mod for the FC guys, getting the FD UIM to bolt up to your LIM. A while back I started thinking of exactly how to do it, and then once jwteknix started pushing me enough (and measured gaskets that i was too lazy to measure) I got it all blueprinted and CNCed. So once I find the final CAD files again (i have printouts, but the files are on a portable usb drive somewhere lol) I will throw them up here so everyone can make their own and know it will work, or since they're professional true CAD blueprints you can print them out and take them to your local CNC and have it cut out. All you'll need to do is have a die grinder to smooth the transitions and have a .75" slab of aluminum, that and all the ther bits and pieces needed for the mod (oil filler neck, fd uim, fd TB, throttle cable, etc) Also if I have a spare stock t2 oil filler neck I'll demonstrate how to easily modify your stock neck to work with the FD UIM setup (all you do is cut out the middle and weld the flange to the very base where the neck enters the block, pretty basic).

Or you can cop out and just ask me to build you one, all I'll be charging most likely is cost of raw materials and maybe $50 on top of that depending on the piece just to help me pay other stuff needed to do it electricity etc)

Alright so anyway folks here are my planned fabrications for the near future probably will forget a few or think up some and I will add or subtract as we go, once theyre done i will make them into a link for ease of use, perhaps you guys can help me decide what to make first etc:

- S5 T2 LIM -> FD UIM & S4 T2 LIM -> FD UIM Adapters (completed, just have to post)

- Tubular FD Rear Diff Brace/Cradle

- Tubular FD Trans Brace/Cradle

- Tubular FD PPF (depending on if anyone wants it done, i dont need it but I know i can do it...real easily too with the right raw materials)

- FD 3" Throttle Body Elbow (with coolingmist.com water injection nozzle mounts)

- S5 T2 Lower Control Arm Brace (Just gonna replicate some jdm one that I own but haven't installed yet)

- S5 T2 Undertray (not stock setup at all so it may or may not turn out useful to everyone else, but it WILL fit with RB sway bars)

- FD Undertray (my stock one does NOT like the front RB sway bar, not enough clearance, so I'll be making one)

The undertrays are basically going to be blueprints unless you really want to see how i cut metal and drill holes, although they wont be made perfectly flat as we know thats bad (aka RB land speed record car trying to fly) so I can probably try to show you how to make the aero scoops that stop that from occuring.

So anyone have suggestions or anyone want to see one before the other specifically? damn im gonna have to go get more raw material lol.

Kevin.

I will be doing a big fiberglass write-up soon too. All the way from setting up a work area, to making a buck and mold, to the final piece.

Anyone have anything else they would like to see from me?

fiberglass is something I've wanted to learn for a long time, looking forward to seeing it.

i actually started looking over a stock fd PPF to plan my attack on it, but i've run out of good material

I'd love to see some info on fibreglassing! Including practical info on how to copy standard panels or how to sculpt a wide-arch (overfender) type shape onto a standard wing (fender) then use it as a plug to make a fibreglass copy of it. I resent the idea of paying £300 plus postage to the UK just for 4 bits of fibreglass that probably won't fit properly lol.

Other fab could be strut braces? Custom subframes?
