I'm getting ready to do a major rebuild on my 7 and have been thinking about doing some autocrossing afterwards.

A question to those who race their cars and have registered with Mazdaspeed Motorsports...http://www.mazdamotorsports.com/weba...ngId=-1#update

Do they really have better prices than the other parts supliers? (i.e. Atkins,Mazdatrix,RacingBeat, ect...)

www.mazdamotorsports.com allows you to buy stock Mazda parts at cost.

Which normally means about 20 - 30 percent cheaper than any place that sells stock Mazda parts can do.

mazdamotorsports.com has a feature that lets you put in the part number and it gives you the price/availability. It is a great website with great people that work there.

You really should sign up to get your sponsorship. Although, it sounds like you are doing it backwards.

You need to have done two autox or two drag races...or one drag race and once autox BEFORE you start getting your discount.

Sounds like you are starting a major project...I would take that car down the drag strip a few times or you will be stuck paying regular marked up prices.

Also, this discount does not allow you to buy interior/exterior body parts if you entered the sponsorship with autox/drag racing.

I think if you track your car you can get different stuff.

You can set up a membership if you are building a car. Go to their site for details.

You can but you can't get stock parts until you race. Even if you are building a car.

You MIGHT be able to get competition parts.

They used to be pretty lax about giving memberships out for at cost parts for people building race cars. But that was being abused too much so they are pretty ansy about it now.

i'm not sure why they changed, but theres 2 things offhand i can think of.

1. theres only 2-3 guys at comp

2. they "undercut" the dealerships. mazdausa makes money on the comp parts, but the dealerships cant compete. if you ask the right people, this is prolly a sensitive issue.
