Peripheral ports usually fail due to poor sealant right?

I found this other putty that appears to be twice as flexible as DEVCON, has a higher temperature resistance (400F) and is just as strong as DEVCON.

Here are links :

Which is the better product to use for a PP application?

Years ago there were few choices when it came to mechanical epoxies. I and others would remove the fins from the flywheel sides of Go Kart engine, and drill through the cylinder in 6 places in order to convert a four port or six port engine to a 9 port engine. And then build it loosy goosy and run it on caster bean oil methanol and nitro methane.

You chip off the aluminum from the side of the cylinder. Drill the 6 holes. Form up three cylidrical shapes in kiddies modeling clay and poke it through the holes to form three bypass ports. Then build a dam all the way around the project. Then pour in Devcon Plastic aluminum to fill the dam.

Wrinse out the clay in the cleaning tank and you have trippled the power of a 6.10 cubic inch engine.

I killed a lot of those things but never had the Devcon let go.

In modern times I would check for methonal compatibility as most gas now has it included. And as close to the expansion of aluminum as possible, to help eliminate cracking. Cracking is not all that important as you wipe the junction with silicone on assembly anyway.

Been there, done that.
