Starting to put a plan together to rebuild my 12A race after I lost the front stat gear (see post in engine failure section).

One of my ceramic apex seals took a little damage in the incident.

What do you guys think, will this seal still work? Will I see much affect in compression from these minor chips?

On one end, there is a tiny chip up by the corner edge that sweeps along the rotor housing.

On the other end there are two chips further down the seal where the corner seal cradles the seal.

Any concern that the seal has further damage (fractures) and will come apart during use?

Thanks,

Neil

What brand of seals are those? The don't look like any ceramic seal i have ever seen.

Not 100% sure - I got them used, but I think they are an older set of Ianetti single piece seals. He only makes 2 piece seals now.

By the way, the engine is back together and running quite well on track. Still a bitch to start when hot.
