Lrg street/race template....... Anyone have problems with them in general or are they great? I've got the template here and debating whether or not to use it?
This is probably wrong but I "HEARD" that people were having problems with seals catching on the ports....... anyhow, thanks for the imput. |
Ito's design isnt the problem. If people are indeed having problems with the seals catching with Ito's templates, I feel confident saying its the fault of whoever ported it, not the design of the template.
And are you sure you arent remembering fluid dynamics ports, where ito was helping him a lot with the port design? |

Yah I like to use pneumatic chisels when I port, you just cant beat how smooth they come out! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif In all seriousness though you wanna use either a Dremel or an air grinder os some sort. If ya never had the chance to port something you may wanna find some **** housings to practice on. Good luck! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif |
My 2cents,
Check out ito's thread's on porting. He gives out the secrets to making his ports work while specifically not catching the side seal... Nick |
the only thing that I don't like about ito's templates is that he has not done a 6 port yet...
|
doing it with a dremel would take forever!!! if you're going the electric route, at least get a rotozip, but die grinders have a lot more power and can get the job done faster and smoother.
