13b-re
#1
I bought a 13B-RE and I will rebuild it very soon. I would like to know if it's worth to port it ? How far can I go before hitting the water jackets ? As far as a TII housing ?
Thanks!

depending on your hp/reliability goals, porting maybe optional or a must. it's hard to answer all your questions in that they are somewhat subjective. post what your planned setup is and also check around in the faq section. also the single turbo section might help you figure out what turbo setup is needed for your wants if you haven't already decided.

The water jacket isnt in the housing. Its in the plate.
The setup I'm planning is:
- stock twins (12-14 psi) for now, maybe a single next year
- haltech e6k
- 1600 cc secondary
- FD fuel pump
- 3" exhaust
- FMIC
Maybe I forget something. I guess it will be around 250 rwhp
So porting or not or just remove the rough ?
Thanks for help!

It's going to significantly more than 250 unless something is seriously wrong or you like wasting gas (i.e. running rich).

is that kind of boost level reliable for the cosmo twins, or will it wear them out a lot quicker???

Does anyone know what boost response is like on the cosmo twins running in non sequential mode. The reason i am asking these few questions, is i have a set of cosmo twins sitting in my shed and i am thinking of fitting them to my daily driver which can be seen in my sig, and want to make sure it is worth it first
any help appreciated
Lance

djgiantrobot: FD fuel pump is not good for about 350 rwhp ? FD guys do not change their injectors before changing the fuel pump ?
RETed: I'm happy to hear that it's going to be more powerfull, I just wanted to be conservative.
cach22: I don't care if you hijack my thread cause these are good question that I wanted to know also.
So what kind of port should I do for this setup. Wild or mild ??
Thanks for inputs guys, I appreciate!
