how much hp could i get out of an NA 12A (not sure if they were turboed) and how long would i be looking at it lasting?
|
with a street port and the right carb (48ida) it should do about 180rwhp and run forever (100k+) provided you built it out of good parts (new rotor housings)

would a bridge port affect the horsepower and reliability alot?
(im emissions free with the plan https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... ) |
horsepower would go up, reliability would go down
a lot |

(im emissions free with the plan https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... ) mike * its hard to say, a lot of bp's are race motors, which get torn down every race/season, the rest are street motors which probably are not daily cars mike |
crap.
ok say after the engine blows how much of it will i be in need of replacing? and about how long would it take me to rebuild it? |

ok say after the engine blows how much of it will i be in need of replacing? and about how long would it take me to rebuild it? if you have a carbon seal motor, and it breaks an apex seal they are too soft to do damage to anything else, so you jsut rip it open and replace the seals. if you have a steel seal motor, usually the shrapnel will take out the rotor housing and or rotor. also in a high revving motor you can spin bearings and break stationary gears, and that can take out rotors and housings too mike |
Time? A couple days if you know what you are doing.

How much a BP affects engine life all depends directly on the porter.
