Thanks for the input Andy. The shop went over everything with a fine toothed comb and they said that the plates were flat before rebuilding the engine. I'll have them check the rear plate as well. I do plan on running higher boost levels. To the best of my knowledge, they used vasoline to hold the rings in during assembly. I've never heard of using additional sealant in that area (hylomar I've heard of). Just put a 1.1kg spring in the wastegate so it's 15psi daily with a big single.



Apparently an experienced welder said you couldn't pool weld on a cast iron housing. I dunno, that was pretty much my first choice.



Housings are fine, no corrosion.

Well i know its a little late, cause im a new guy but ive soldered many holes due to over porting NA and turbo with 100% sucess. Been doing it for over 10 years with no problems. You wont be able to do this with a toy soldering iron, and the bottom of ports requires shaping iron to fit in.
