check out your local schools and regional clubs for more info on open instructional track events....typical cost varies and there are other factors to consider outside of the track costs.....lodging..tires..fuel...just to name a few

Dont quote me on this one but generaly, the "track" would require you to have at least attended a racing school. I think most tracks do offer "open" track days in which they may hold training sessions. The other way is to find a local sports car club like BMW or Porsche and attend their track events(i've heard they will let you run eventhough you drive a different car). The other way is to contact the SCCA and get their license, with it you should be able to participate in novice classes on their sanctioned events

It does come with a price tag though so be prepared to cough up some cash.

I strongly suggest investing on a helmet Snell 95 or better in order to even think about racing....they wont even inspect your car if you dont have a helmet**safety is their #1 concern** LOL
