People (insurance people usually) think it is a higher risk activity than autocross or drag racing seeing you don't have "control." It probably would cost too much to include drifting events insurance wise. It's not all about the fun. It's money too.

Anyway, BACK TO THE TOPIC, I agree with rmaiersg. Do you have a local track? Here we have car clubs that book the track for the day and just hold a drift day at the track. Obviously you gotta be a member, but thats got other benefits anyway.
