There was a thread on the other forum and this guy destroyed his stock pads after 2 track events. They were in a scarey unsafe condition. Engine should be fine as long as he cools it down after his runs.

I might have to sign up for Oct event

Ok, brake pads are being addressed, as long as I can get my hands on some, ATE Superblue will go in as well. Thanks for the tips all, more details on registration and such when I find out. Whenever the day comes, we'll be there in a group: black ITR, silver FD, dark green GSR, blue Jetta 1.8t, and a red GTi 2.0. I hope to see you all out there.

Most likely not, but I only live about an hour and half away, so it's not too bad of a drive for me. On the second day though, I usually take a nap between the 2nd and 3rd sessions, otherwise I'm falling asleep on the way home...

By the way rfreeman, just looking at your mods (to anybody else too), you won't be able to use your harnesses without a rollbar. So either get one, which is never a bad idea (Autopower or Kirk), or just have your stock 3-point belts in.

Im going to get one soon anyways, nearing the sub 12 sec 1/4 and its the rule at my track to have a rollbar. Thanks for the heads up, I cant use my stock seatbelts anymore.

Do you have any brake upgrades? With a stock car, from what these other fellas say, it'd be hard on them, but with the kind of power you must be putting out, you should have something. Where do all you guys live, maybe we can get a caravan going.

If you're looking for pads and rotors, check out www.cobaltfriction.com, talk to Andie, great guy and great stuff. I'm not sure if they have FD applications, but his stuff is top notch and good prices to boot. Another good place is www.carbotech.com, though I haven't personally dealt with them. If you're in Frederick County, we could definitely meet up somewhere on the way up. I'm near Baltimore, so I head out West to get there. When it gets closer to the time, if you want we can organize something. Anyone else interested?
