So I haven't posted about this to keep the car being there a secret from other potential shops or racers. Thursday we went out to Phoenix at the Speed World raceway to attend an eposide filming for the tv show Pinks which is on the Speed Channel. This is for the second season that will premier in February. They don't tell you who you race until you get up to the front for your race. We got there Thursday, and watched other shows get filmed on Friday, so I had a really good idea of what to expect on Saturday.



Saturday comes and I wanted to throw up all morning. The race was at 1pm, so there was HOURS that I felt sick haha. Once we arrived, we found out through the grapevine that we were racing a 92-95 SOHC Civic turbo built and raced by Full Race out of Phoenix. For those that don't know, they make some of the sickest turbo manifolds I have ever seen.



TO make a long story short (you can see the details when our show debuts:D) I brought my 89 TII, and my business partner Matt raced while I did the negotiating. The car hadnt' even been down a 1/4 mile track, so the first race was weird, and the car bogged a bit, and the civic took the forst win. That didn't hapen again though. Matt drove the **** out of the car, and we won the next 3 races, the last of which they had a 4 car lead, and we won by a long shot. Their car ran a 10.82 the night before we took it according to one of their team, so that means our FC should do pretty well on the track with times.



Anyway, just thought some of you would be interested. I'll let everyone know when it will be on TV if you'd like to check it out. It is the first import versus import, and a rotary took home the other teams ride...

I watch that show, wasn't aware they didn't tell you who you were going to race until you show up.

Yeah we ended up with it, and it is in my shop now LOL. Gotta paint that thing quick. It hurts the eyes under the lighting haha. You could tell they weren't happy, and they were talking some smack behind us according to some people, but were very grascious loosers when I talked to them. Yea you will probably get more money selling the parts off the thing then you ever would selling the whole car.

That's awesome advertisement though, that kind of tv exposure would cost a small fortune if you had to buy it!

After that first race I thought for sure you had your driver sand bagging, and faking those first two launches. Was that civic on the bottle the last race? I couldn't see **** from where I stood the last race...

We actually didn't sandbag it as much as we would like to say that haha. That was the first time we had raced my car, and didn't know how it would hook up, so it bogged hard on the first run. After that, I told matt to put it to the floor, and we did much better. The civic ran nitrous the first race, and I negotiated out their bottle after that. They later said it didn't even work, but I haven't verified that as of yet. I know that last race though, they had 4 lenghts, and we won by at least 6 cars https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Haha. When that civic hit 3rd gear in the 1st race, that thing was pulling very hard. I'm pretty sure that thing was spraying then. That last race was pretty good lol. I take it you guys only had the vehicle tuned for WOT, it appeared it had some starting issues...

any details on the car's mods?

The starting problems were that it was at 250F water temps after Matt did the burnout coming back in off the 4th race and then just shut it down. After I rebuild the engine in it LOL It blew up yesterday or Saturday at Universal Studios when they were doing sound clips for F&F3.



It should do really well on the drag strip though!

Sounds good man..I've watched PINKS for a while and was wondering when they'd do more import car coverage.. You've got more brass ones then me though, I'd hate to lose my car! How do you get on that show anyways? Invite or signup? Looking forward to the new season.

Last episode some Honda fags brough a POS to race against a prepped Camaro. The fat ass in the Honda couldn't drive at all , Granny shifted. For god's sake guys allways "Understate" your HP. like Dave said man you dont know how light a car is and if your not knowledgable about domestic motors you can get creamed really easy.

Honda owner said he had 600HP. Camaro said 650 and he would eat them by 8-12 cars easy with out using his Nitrous!

The bottle was fake!!! They wanted to get the more lenght they could get.

Yah I dont think the bottle setup was fake, I think they didnt have the time to tune on Nitrous. According to Geoff's website he had that thing ripped apart 3 or 4 times because the motor wouldnt put out power so I doubt he had time to tune it.
