is there a good set of double/triple duty tires out there, street, road race, drag?

not sure if "better" is correct term. i wear glasses so open face was good for me and it provides good peripheral sight. but i just ordered the g force hybrid which is supposed to be good with glasses and has bigger opening for better view out. safer too? not sure.



no such thing as triple duty tires because drag use needs soft sidewall, whereas road course need stiff. but good double duty tires are the yok A032r's which i have now. i got hard compound, which hold up well for open track, but don't heat up enough for autocross. toyo ra1's are very good dual purpose tire, and so is the nitto RII but they are limited in sizes. michelin pilot sport cup is also very good dual purpose tire. but i'll probably get kumho v700's even though their street manners are very rough, but they are great track tires. i've heard good thing about azenis 615's too, although don't know how they compare to kumho v700's or yok a032r.

depending on how many track events you have.... you are better off with your normal street tires. You will learn ALOT more about how to drive your car correctly on street tires. They normally "talk" to you and screech when near the edge of traction and give you warning. Alot of track compounds hold WAY better... but give you almost no warning before you exceed their limitations. You also don't have to be as smooth and perfect with track tires... which means you might be driving like **** and getting away with it because of the tires.... Learn to drive with the lesser tire... then move up to race tires after you learn what the car can and can't do.







If you already have a few events under your belt.... disregard the above, and get a set of Yoko AO32r's . I used to run those and was very happy with them.

i have never taken the car to a track other than 1/4 mile and very amateur drifting. i have only driven "competitvely" at the mazda rev it up and zoom zoom live events. other than that i have e-karted for fun at a very small track like 3 times.



seeing as kahren thinks i need new street tires anyway(so what if theyre a lil worn and dry rotted....) whats a good street tire then? vosko says 615s.



if i like these a lot and my car survives im gonna have to find a way to fit the tow hitch with the diffuser on the car........

i really like the goodyear GSD3's for normal street tire (i've autocrossed, drag raced and open track with them and they do very well). since you are noob in regards to this stuff, the 615 are still really sticky and will mask your mistakes.

i recognized quite a few of the cars from your photo page... i've seen them at VIR alot.

grey, i'm basically a noob to the rx7...but i like your wing...where and how much? any close up shots of how you mounted it to trunk? currently i'm wingless and i like it, but at pocono, at 140 mph, it was swaying but also could have been the stock old shox and springs.
