That seems like a question you should ask yourself.

driving irresponsibly has nothing to do with imports, domestics have been killing people with their cars ever since there was more than 1 on the road.

I live in florida now, the land of irresponsible driving. And trust me, it doesn't take a fast car to drive like a total jackass. As a matter of fact, any s.u.v. will work just fine.

I wonder if similar discussions with complete ******* idiots like this guys come up in Japan. I mean the topics with complete noobs who think they know what drifting is, go do it on the street, etc... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif I hope I never share the road with this guy.

Alright, after saying that, practicing drifting at the track. The street is the worst place, especially at night on curvy roads. If you actually watch Initial D, you must have skipped the one where the dude hits the guard rail and goes to the hospital. You'll learn faster at the track anyway, less fear of dying, and way more experienced there to help you out.

I know around here the drifing people do it in coned off parking lots, extremely safe compared to open roads and the people who coned them are usually there to offer tips as well.

Just because you think you have "mad skillz" doesnt mean you wont wreck. Even on back roads at night there is still a chance of another car, 2 summers ago when i still went to the local street races, the cops showed and some one in an eclipse went speeding away on this back road than almost never has cars, lost it around a corner and hit a minivan. Bolth in the car died and it screwed up the driver of the mini van.

Im not saying drifting on the street is bad, ive done it my self, im just trying to say you cant controll other drivers and animals that wander onto the road.

and if ur spinnig leaving a corner at 20 or on a barely moist road, you need some more practice off the road.

One night over here in Chicago it was all raniy and really slick, I mean perfect for some drifting. Normally I'll get it a little sideways after 2-3 in the morning and only where I have some room to runoff. But this night was different. Happened at about 11pm or so. I didn't really do it intentionally but it happened anyway when I was turning. I felt it go so gave it a little more juice to keep it sustained. well about halfway through it I look over and notice a cop sitting in the turning lane. I kept going on and continued down the road. The cop never followed.

This is great https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

The guy writes about how he crashes at 20mph, then goes on to say he's a perfectly safe driver and no one can keep up with his mad skillz.

I hope the person you eventually kill is related to you, or less than 5. That'll learn ya.

initial D rocks! haha just felt like saying that since i watch the anime series myself https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png and about the guy that ends up in the hospital if ur talking about the crash that happens in episode #2 or #3 only reason why he crashed was cuz he was all frustrated and pissed at himself... so while he was driving he was all angry and made a rash decision and didnt drive as cautiously as he usually does on mt. akina. also, if ur talking about the other guy that ends up in the hospital it was in episode #14 where takumi's friend crashed only because guy behind him driving red EG6 bumped him and made him crash into guardrail... so yea

I'm not criticizing, but of all the things that were made into an anime, anything pertaining to cars I wouldn't have predicted.

speedracer2235 03-15-2005 02:56 PM

I cant say I dont condone it b/c I do it. Heck it's catching on in this country like wildfire. Personally as long as you learn in a big empty parking lot and do it in the open street like youve got a brain. It will be too wide spread to stop in a year or so.

We as Americans love how the Japanese drive, they are raised to drive 110% where as we are lucky to get any good training at all before our 16yr olds are let out on the street. A big difference is that they have to start out with small underpowered sports cars and move on to faster ones.

My child will not get anything fast when hes ready for a car. He'll buy his first one with his money and it will only be what I let him get. Insurance companys are nuts letting these kids drive exotic hot rods. Get some expierence with something slow and move up. You'll be a better driver for it.
