so some of you know i have been building a new race car for a guy for the last 4 mounths. well the car is only about 90% finished but we took it out this weekend to race it anyways. friday was a BMW track day wich didnt go so well, the owner of the car expoleded a gear box and over heated the engine a lil bit ( i told him not to take the car to the track day as it was not ready) so friday nite the car went to illinois to ower freinds shop who built the gear box. that box was not repairable in the time frame we had so he just put a stock box in the car. we go out on sunday morning with a non set up car, ran a rather slow for ower class 1.19 lap time out of the box , the only good there was that was 3 seconds faster then that car ran befor. i made some changes. this car has 1.16 to 1.17s in it at blackhawk no problem .the car got better but the driver would not push the car one bit and kinda ***** footed it around ( tire temps where 114 deg rear, 132 deg frount, need to come off track around 180) but it was fast enuff to take the poll and win in E prod. so its back to the shop this week to remove a spare diff out of a parts car, tear it down, rebuild it with a 4.30 and a 1.5way kazz diff and swap that rear set with the 5.13 thats in the car now and prep for road america for the regional. we are using that weekend as a test weekend for the june sprints , we dont plan on winning or even being in the top 5 but we should be good enuff for upper mid pack at the sprints. there is way way more car under the driver this year and he doesnt know the feel off it yet so we are working up to top comp form slowly. Eprod cars aint a cheep date to go out and **** up on the first weekend ya know. we should have a much much better showing at elkart this weekend with a set up car and more bugs being worked out this week and with a 100% finished car. ill post pics of the compleated E prod RX-7 before we go to elkart.

ya we never scaled the car or aligned it properly as the owner-driver wanted to take it to a bmw event at the same track that weekend so we didnt have the time. it is not corner balanced and aligned and its set up 50-50 cross weight 50.5-49.5 frount to back and i added a slight toe in to the rear to help. the car was toed out slightly in the back the first time out wich explained why it was so looose. anyways due to weather this past weekend we did not go out to test the car so next up is the june sprints at road america. wish us fun
