Drift Tie Rod Ends
#1
A friend and I are working on importing some high quality tie rod ends and steering rack spacers for the FC and FD from a company called Supernow!. Any FC drifter learns fast how much the steering angle on the car sucks. My friend put them on his car and the transition from lock to lock is very smooth and greatly improved. The ends themselves are a made from a heim joint and a threaded piece with two lock nuts on top and bottom. So rather than having just one cotter pin you have two lock nuts. The tie rod ends works wonders, and I have heard nothing but good about them. If anyone is scepticle Tony Angelo is running them on his FC right now as a few others, and they love em.
They make 3 different kinds:
1. Tie rod ends (basically a waste)
2. Tie rod ends with spacers
3. Racing type (fully adjustable)
Right now I am trying to work out the pricing for them from SuperNow and the shipping cost to the US. Email me at sikokillr@aol.com or reply here if interested, and maybe if we get enough people we can maybe get a group buy.

I still think relocating the tie rod end to hub point (which gives you faster ratio and more steering angle) is a much better option than buying these (overpriced) pieces. Sure, you can make your own spacers (there's a thread in here somewhere on that), but Mazdied mentioned only can go 0.3" before you run out of safe threads. This will give you added steering angle, but it doesn't come close to the 45+ degrees we're getting with the relocated tie rod end.

Comparing the FC steering to the AE86 or S13 / S14, it doesn't get as much steering angle.
I dunno how you qualify "greatly improved", but all it does is increase steering angle. It does not affect ratio, so it does not steer faster or slower. The bump steer spacers could significantly affect bump steer, but I doubt you're notice this cranking the steering wheel with the car sitting still.

Still even the 86's, s13/14 steering angle is bad, the FC is just that much worse.
The first few times my friend drifted his FC he could not drfit the car from corner to corner because of the limted steering angle. Also the wheel would not kick back fast enough becasue of the nature of the stock tie rod ends. Since he installed the the transition from lock to lock is alot easier to control and one handed drifts are alot easier to do because of the smoother transition.
I am not forcing anyone to buy these, I am just ordering and seeing if anyone else is interested and if your tie rod ends are shot then you still need to get new ones, which I think run around $130-150 for both. Besides, relocating the tie rod end to hub point cannot be done by everyone, and it still does not provide you with the adjustablity.

Ok, I FINALLY got some type of pricing, although I am not happy with them and trying dilegently to work out some type of better deal with them. Right now the prices look like this:
All prices include shipping from Japan and will arrive in your house 10-14 days. The prices are also rough estimates due to changes in exchange rate.
Street Type
FC3S $235
FD3S N/A
Street with Spacer
FC3S $255
FD3S $275
Racing Type
FC3S $310
FD3S N/A
Racing Type with spacers
FC3S $330
FD3S $365
I would appreciate it if you are seriously interested in these to email me so I can present them with how many we might be purchasing at one time to get a better deal. My email is sikokillr@aol.com
