Just out of curiosty, who all here drifts with their cars? Well, I guess who participates in track sanctioned drift events?

I'm only wondering what kind of suspension setups, wheel sizes/offsets, tires, LSD's, camber degrees you are all running. Drift specific, moreso than say drag or autocross.

FC or FD or SA?

By your SN, I would think you own a Sil-Eighty...

But Ted is right, which car are you asking about?

I have a 86 GXL with an RB Carb. (NA application's a long term project, not so much for drifting). I will be getting a TII clip soon.

I was only assuming the posts would be across the board, so, FC's, D's, SA's...it's all cool.

The Impact Blue is from the past two 240's I've owned.

I guess I've upgraded since then....

Here is what I recommend for aligment:

3 degrees front camber

2 degrees rear camber with power (zero camber with no power/stock)

slight rear toe in 1/8"

What else do you have on you car? The worst part about the FC is the lack of steering angle. Coilovers would be best for adjustable ( I also recommend running same spring rates front and rear). Other suspesion mods: DTSS eliminators, Rear sublink adjuster, new bushings on the car, super angle kit, LSD....... I cam go on, it just depends on how hardcore you are going to be and how much $$$ you want to spend.

for starters all you need is good solid brakes; make sure your ebrake is working; a good working lsd. stiffer suspension may help if your stock ones are wearing out and giving you excesssive body roll.

dont be like that other moron on the other thread there and practice on public roads. find some nice secluded area. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

cant remember setups for camber etc, but im running fully adjustable JIC coilovers, 2 way mazdaspeed mechanical diff, 5 puck brass button clutch, front and rear strut braces and a full 7 point roll cage. AVS 16x8's front and rear with stretched 215 yoko's. car loves the sideways.

Yes, your car should be running at least to OEM spec. I'm looking for more preload values, valve lengths, dampening weights, battery relocation (well, any kind of clever weight removal/distribution).... I'm thinking 9kgs all round. If any one has more experience on this, it would be awesome. Most aftermarket presets are lower than this--I'm a bit concerned about over stiffness, if I go custom, leading to understeer.

^bump?

Anyway, while on this topic, has anyone had any particularly good experience with aftermarket ball joints, tie rod ends, subframe spacers (?), dtss eliminators? Which brands are you running? What should I expect?

I'm investing in my FC from the ground up, power later.
