Nice vid, I guess. Not too sure I care for the whole "circus sideshow attraction" feel of that event. Too gimmicky. Great driving, but very much overshadowed at times by the comical antics and flying bikes. I'm not into flashy, glitzy productions. Keeping it simple always works for me.
I have a feeling that in a couple of years, drift events in the U.S. will be like sideshow attractions. They'll become more like car shows with bikini contests, break dancing and dj competitions, and dB drags all happening during the drifting. At least that's the way it's going in SoCal with their drift events. Just wait and see. It's more about packaging a product for spectators in order to make some money for the promoters than it is about the drivers getting good practice in. Bahhhh!

i agree with jerkracer, when that **** first came on i saw the flying bikes and **** and was like "wtf" all the stuff with the donuts and crap is for crowd pleasing people who don't drift...which is where it will go as it becomes more popular. Drifting will be for the masses and for making money, not for fun except to the fringe underground that do it now. Just like with everything else, it becomes commericalized, any element of hiphop or extreme sport is the same way now.

Don't get me wrong, I respect their skill and also acknowledge it, but what is it good for except the notion that it can be done?
anyways.. why drag race? why auto-cross? why drive in a counter-clockwise circle for 500 miles? oh yah.. people enjoy doing it. you're question makes no sense to me.. why are you asking this? i dunno. anyways i'm prolly a little late but i felt i had to add.
