What a day!! We only had 37 entered drivers so it was gonna be a quick day...or so I thought....
The event chairman decided we needed to do 20 runs each today. What a day it was grins on everyones faces.
Be far the coolest car there in my book was a 3 cylinder Geo Metro runnin old school Yokahama A009-R racing tires. He was keeping pace with much more formidable cars.
My usual rival in the Cobra didn't run.. well he ran once and was experiencing car problems. There was however a very quick S-2000 as well as 2 vettes. The course layout was great for high HP cars. We had two straights that were long enough for me to wind out 2nd gear. There was also a SM2 Honda Civic that looks like a go kart. It was as fast as the Vettes.
There was also a late 90's Mustang Cobra that got bumped into my class from C-Prepared. He gave it his best and was neck and neck with the Corvettes. He did a great job.
PJ came out with his 86 Base turned TII except this time he was armed with a full suspension and Mazdadrifters vert rims and a set of fresher Toyo Proxes RA-1 Race compound tires. His best time of the day was a 23.002. My best time all the way up to my last run was a 22.517 so PJ was only about 1/2 od a second behind me. I knew there was a 22 flat out there and I finally got it on my very last run with a 22.001. This still was not good enough for best pax. The C-5 Vette with a 22.570 got the pax honors. I needed to run a 21 flat to beat the vette in the pax. But I still got the FTD in the raw times so I was happy.
Some pics...
The racing Metro
His super cool tires...
Wow! A Z-06!!!
I guess 405 HP just isnt enough.. I have no clue what this car puts down but he was in the high 22's with it so I guess it didnt really help...
Honda Civic Go Kart
Evo and WRX STi getting along with each other.
Nice new G-35 that was keeping pace with the Evo and STi
I mentioned it was new but forgot to say it only has 850 miles on it see the temp tag??

Here are some pics of Pj's car. Go look at a past event and notice the change in stance. He was very happy with his car.
I have to thank my sis-in-law for taking these next few pics. I hardly have any pics of my car in action she was cool enough to hang out and take some pics.
I gave her husband a ride and I asked her to snap some pics for me. I actually gave out a lot of rides this day. I think 6 different people got rides.
Setting up for the turn:
Middle of turn:
Coming out of the same turn. I am just a tad *** out sideways in this pic you can hardly see it though..
Coming out of the same turn, different run, by far my favorite picture..
