what classes do they have, and what do they generally let you do?

i know about the stock classes

also does anyone ever crash auto-xing? you cant build a nice car to roadrace in cause it will get demolished too fast.

we're thinking about auto-xing a 62 mercedes 220s next year, and i have no idea what class it would be in

SCCA should have a rulebook online. You might have to do a lot of navigating through the site links though.

SCCA Online

Here's a PDF of OUR rules, but you'd have to drive to Vancouver to go by them!

CNAC Rulebook

For us you would be in HS, H stock, which is the lowest class available. You would have to beat 323s, Insight, Austin Healys, all MINI non supercharged, basically the base model of every economy car ever made. Pretty grim.

If your club organizers know what they are doing and design a safe course you can't crash unless you are a complete tool. You have nothing to worry about except for tiny economy cars with R-compounds beating the Moose senseless!

Does it really matter? I think it would be more fun just to go out and let the local guys sort it out. Their heads will probably explode trying to figure out where you belong.

I would like to see some vid of the moose tearing around an Autcross course. There is a local guy that runs a Lincoln Mark VIII its funny to watch. He does pretty damn good with it though.

my FC runs in SM2 cuz of the standalone, basically i have to run in an open class against the open wheel cars and **** cuz of that. I don't really care cuz its just for fun anyway. I saw a guy in an RSX knock down a light pole once, but thats the only wreck i've ever seen. We were all trying to figure out how the hell that guy did that.

SM2 does not have open wheel cars in it. It is 2 passanger sports cars that do not fit in the the Plain Street Modified class. Its mostly made up of Mr2's, CRX's, RX-7's (I see FD's and FC's) and any other 2 seater that is heavily modded. The only reason I am not running SM2 is because I have slicks. Next year I am getting some DOT's and running that class its really competative and RX-7's fair well in it.
