It's an aero part. Used to tweak airflow on over/under the car for better aerodynamics. Can be beneficial, but can also be a waste of money.

A real diffuser, as opposed to the mock ones (which is probably what you've seen) reduces lift created underneath the car. If it's a functional one, the whole of the car's underbody will be flat, with lips on the side so air can't escape and has to exit from the rear of the car. At the rear the flat underbody curves upwards, this is what reduces the lift, acting the same way as a wing, again for it to be functional the angle won't be more than 17 degrees, after this they stop working apparently.

That is cool! changing oil would be a 2 hour job

The RE-Amemiya rear difs are kinda goofy, and wonder if they work. Love a appearance though

Without the whole undertray a diffuser is a waste of time. But still looks damn cool

i run one on the track car.... honestly, i did get it mainly for looks with the hopes that it'd do something. The back of the car stays way cleaner now...due to the air not swirling as bad behind it. It does feel more stable at high speeds, BUT that may all be in my head to make the price tag seem worth it.

I know I'll be in the market for one later on. I've heard too many good things about how they keep the "*** in check" on FDs.

I think FDs look great with no wing and a defuser.
