Hi guys.
I'm back since a longer time with new questions:
Which twin plate clutch kit (with flywheel) is the best on the market?
I heard the HKS is nice, the OS Giken or the Blitz one.
I ran a search but I'm not contend with the result.
I have the ACT XTR6 right now and want to change. Lots of traffic
and the way to the racetrack make me want to try one of those
high perf. units.

If you've got the money get the ATS Carbon clutch. OS Giken and Ogura(ORC) make nice twin plates. From what I have seen of the HKaSs, I would avoid it. I personally run an OS twin and love it.

Yeah, what about Exedy? They are doing some nice looking cluthc kits.
Don't know what those are worth.
If they are worth the money I'm considering those for my Z too.
Maybe I should check the Z forum.

EXEDY wears quicker then any clutch I have ever seen. Never dealt with any of the newer versions, but the same company makes, Nismo, Mazdaspeed etc....
They also make some other companies too
ORC--Beafy, should be no problem for high torque and power, never had any personal experience with it, but would like to... Twin
OS--Nice cheap overhaul, I have overhauled 2 of them now in 2 different cars, still like it a lot, foot pedal works like stock IF YOU WANT but engages like none other hehe...

Whats the engagement like? A switch?
I guess from your comments the clamping is good!
What buggers up in a Giken?

Connects good, like a switch, but depends on what version you get too
Cheap overhaul--$500 and it would be like brand new, well thats if you know how to drive, I mean if you fruck up the flywheel and the diapram then its different. I didnt do that ever on 2 cars, so I dont know if its possible ehehe
Check for wear an tear-- no measurements in hand, but check on the thickness of material left on the disks, check for warping, chips in all the disks.
No pressure plate/diapram--there should be a little wear spot just around your fingers, if you catch your nail then its ok, if you run your finger accross and it cuts your finger off, needs to be changed.
Go ahead and get a new BEARING--The correct size, unless you like it going DANG-A-LANG around in there, frucking ***** up.
Check for missing hardware--bolts etc.. replace as needed, worn, cracked etc..
Then the counter weight--Well if its there, then your good to go.....
Flywheel---check for wear, cracks on the teeth, unusal wear warping coloration. PURPLE etc...
Did I miss anything guys, that all just wore me out hehe
