The design looks to be better than the Mazda design:

The stock Mazda seals get kind of brittle with age. I've had a few break with very little pressure while taking them out of rotors .

Seems like it would be better because the round edges wont catch on any irregulars on the housing right?Since its a side seal there wouldnt be any detonation there so I cant really say it would take detonation any better.

The only problem I see is that Raduised edge wearing down quicker. Mazda put 2mm rings in the GLC saying that they reduced friction (back in the mid 80's). These mazda GLC's needed a ring job at 50,000 miles.

Yeah, the stock seals don't like to encounter any irregularities.

We'll see. I'll probably try them out in the next motor I build.

i rechecked my other engine. i think the old sidehousings can be resused so hard part list needed for the engine is two rotors and two rotor housings . got any lying around ? we can try those new hurleys on the spare engine https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I'll have some whenever I can get in touch with my friend. We're supposed to work out a trade.

You can take out the stationary gears and rub the housings together using valve grinding compound.

i'll let you do that :P i might have found two 89 rotors + two 89 housings for $400 we'll see what happens. actually if its $400 i'm better off getting another jspec for $650 and selling the parts off this one
