Is the dampener that much better than the solid mounts? Can the piston on the dampener wear out?

I wouldnt say it would wear out. Not much room for wear. I have had mine for almost 2 years

and still just as tight as the day I got it..

i thought it wasnt really a piston when it was disassembled, it was simply hardmount, with piston/dampening look? or is that another one?
