That is pretty intersting. Bleeding your brakes does wonders too. I bleed mine before every event. I have SS lines on my TII but I have to admit that is a pretty cool mod. Yet another use for zip ties.

Its a cheap way to firm up the brake pedal by reinforcing the brake lines.

it keeps the brake lines from... ahh forget it.





During repeated high speed braking, the brake fluid in your lines will heat up causing a 'balloon' or expansion effect when the brake pedal is depressed. This expansion of the lines will be one factor that will lead to your brakes becoming ineffective - i.e. brake fade.

In spite of what the original thread on the Subaru board says, this mod is not legal for SCCA stock category cars. The rule book is very clear on this. It explicitly states that items that are not specifically stated in the rules under "Authorized Modifications" are not allowed.



Also, I would not recommend doing this just based on the brake hose's need to flex properly.



However, I must admit there is a certain, "redneck engineering" characteristic to it that intrigues me...
