i just bought a gxl non turbo rx7 and was wondering what type of intake system i can purchase?i cant seem to find a intake pipe that looks like a honda one does?do they even make them?thanks for the help.

 

I've never seen anything like that, but you could make it. Most people just remove the airbox and put a cone filter on the air flow meter. If your car is an 86-88 then you'll need an adapter. http://www.k2rd.com seels the adapters.

but arent the purpose of some of those intakes is to get colder air into the engine. i mean if we are just going to put a performance filter on the end why not use the stock air box and a k&n filter.

me i would like some non-temp conducting plastic or steel with a k&n and a heat shield. anyway thats just my $.02

 

The air intake problem onRx7 is the air filter box. Cone filters provide much more flowing and some people build cold air boxes around them to solve the hot air issue

 

what about the the intake tube does that conduct much heat? if it doesn't then i'm gonna buy a cone filter and say hello to minor gains in hp
