Im planning on putting in a few guages, but im not sure what to get besides boost. The car has the following mods, 3inch catback, hks intake, 255 fuel, FCD, MBC. I would assume get a boost gauge, then what else? EGT? Oil press, fuel press, water temp? I live in arizona but my car runs fine in the heat. Please help thanks

MBC---Im assuming is a boost controller?
If so BOOSTand EGT gauges would be good. Fuel pressure, oil temp, and water temp isnt really IMPORTANT IMHO but if it makes you feel better then pick one up. I only have a PFC, Boost gauge and a EGT gauge, I feel fine I know you dont have a PFC, but I dont really pay too much attention to them anyway since my car is in good working order. I mean if your trying to troubleshoot a problem later on, some of those other gauges might help a lot. |
For a modded T2? Boost/EGT/Water temp. Oil pressure is useful if you have a new motor with new bearings and want to see when your engine is finally broken in. Oil temp is also nice to have if you have swapped to aftermarket oil coolers and need something to compare. Fuel pressure is a MUST if you have the stock pump.

it gauges boost egt = to monitor the exhaust gas temp..... |
Well, i mean like i know why you would want to monitor boost or say engine temp, but why would you want to monitor EGT? What would a higher or lower EGT mean?
|
well....umm...engine temp is the EGT.... theres only 4 things to really monitor in engine temps... water (coolant), intake air, exhaust air, and oil temps
so you monitor it so you dont overheat your exhaust temps and housings and stuff.... |
