Didn't know what you were talking about the first time.

I have the Hyper, which apparently is the predecessor that one. It sounded real nice with the stock twins, downpipe, and high mileage main cat. Bit of a drone at highway cruisng speed, actually that was the loudest RPM. Sounded good at wide open throttle, deeper sounding idle, but no louder than stock.

Now I have stock ports, a BIG single turbo, 4" downpipe and 3" midpipe. It is OBNOXIOUS! I set off car alarms driving through the underground parking lot. It is high pitched, not a nice tone.

I would like to try it with an aftermarket cat in place or a second muffler, but I might just take it off and get something custom made.

when you have such an exaust setup (4" down pipe, 3"-4" mid pipe) + a nice turbo what would be the best way to make it quieter while hurting the preformance as little as possible.

PS:

I have heard on some skylines they have some sort of variable width muffler or something. Basicaly you can open up your exaust when you want preformance, but when driving down the street past a bunch of cops you can flip a switch and have the muffler close up or something so it kills the noise. Anyone know anything about something like this?

Add a Borla muffler in the midpipe. The car will never be quiet.

I think it's pretty quiet, compared to the dragger and N1.
