So does anyone know of a good pump that can go intank? I want a pump that can keep up with my T78 at 24spi. I am running 168lb secondaries and 72lb primaries with a PFC and an SX FPR. -8AN Feed and -6AN return. How much is a sump kit for the FD and how hard are they to do? I wanted to stay intank but if that is not an option then I guess I'll go with what works.

Thanks,

Scott
i would think that teh cosmo pump would be fine, as long as you KNOW that you have good sized injectors, and a regulator....i was told upon purchase of my cosmo pump that it would support 500HP.....

I already have one and I was told that it won't work with my power goals. I will be running a Top Feed Primary Rail with 756cc injectors and a Custome Secondary rail w/ 1680cc injectors and an SX FPR. I am runing a single -8AN Feed line to a Y-distribution block to the rails in parallel and then back out the of the rails with -6AN lines to the two inputs on the SX FPR and then a single -6AN line to the tank. I am building a fuel system that can hopefully support my car and my future goals for it. So the pump is my only missing peice, which one? I was thinking of sumping the tank and running an Aeromotive A1000 in line with 2 Aeromotive filters but I would rather keep the assembly in the tank if I can. I don't want to worry about potholes and speedbumps hitting my sump and breaking the weld or some ****. It is still a daily driver.

I have been thinking about a twin pump etup but I like the idea of one large single pump that does it's job instead of two smaller pumps that have to work harder than they are intended to. Even though both ways would work, optimaly I am looking for a large in tank pump. Does anyone know where to get one?

Thanks,

Scott

One of the guys on the other forum said he put his Aeromotive inside the tank. He called them and asked if he could. Mounting it would be a BITCH, especially since you have to mount one of their big pre-filters as well. I just designed and made my own bracket to mount two Supra pumps.

^^^are they in-tank now, or did you have to remote mount them outside of the tank?

In tank. I have some pictures of the first one on the other forum, it didn't fit perfectly so I have changed the design a little. I will post some here when the next ones are finished. i am waiting for the pieces of the first 5 to be completed.

i would think about dual bosch pumps or walbros. will the fuel lines support that kinda power?

...and i would think that it would be wise to upgrade the lines for that type of power possibility......it always pays to be ready....

I am running all SS Lines to and from the tank. -8AN feed and -6AN return. I think I am just oging to sump the tank and go external. Can anyone give me some advice on how to do it. Jegs sells sumps for $49 so I am going to order one as well as an Aeromotive A1000 FP. What filters should I run? 10 Micron, 40 Micron, or 100 micron. I was thinking 10 Micron between the tank and the pump and 100 micron between the pump and the rails. Then a Y Distribution block to split the line into two and run the rails in parallel.

To do the sump, I need to take the fuel tank off and drain the fuel and let it sit and air out to get rid of the fumes for a while, correct? Then do I have to cut a hold in the tank or can I just drill a bunch of holes? I know that Keith drilled a bunch of holes in his, is that the easier and better way to do it? Then what do I do for a fuel gauge? Will my stock basket just sit in the tank without a pump or how does that all work?

Thanks,

Scott

I have the Aeromotive pump in tank. It works great! You cannot run smaller than a 100 micron filter before the pump, ask aeromotive on that one. Then run a finer filter after the pump. The finer filter before the pump will starve the pump for fuel and burn it up. Just like Scott I didn't want a sump hanging off my car. Also if anyone has heard an aeromotive pump externally you would understand how loud they are. When it is in the tank you can still hear it but once the engine is running the exhaust drounds it out. Also Scott you are fairly close to me you could look at mine and then decide if I'm nuts and you hate the idea or maby you might like it and decide to do the same.
