what's the difference between having a bov in the stock location and having one on an elbow? i assume one of them has a performance advantage. i have no clue though so help me out here.

It is a debatable arguement so either way will work. I always went by the theory of mounting it close to the TB but I know plenty of people mount them close to the stock location, I truly think either way will work fine and that there is no difinitive answer to which is the better location. Sorry if that doesn't help much but if you give it time, some will say TB and some will say stock location so it's up to you.

I've seen people with one in each location. They say the one in the stock location helps stop compressor surge better. They also say the one on the elbow gets a quicker response and relieves the pressure so that if any does get back to the compressor it won't be enough to damage anything. So they run one in each location to get the best of both worlds and protect thier turbo better.

(whoa...we got the quote thingy back) I was thinking the same thing. I bet the one on the elbow is louder. I saw the set up by Greddy and it looked pretty simple.

yeah, if you buy the greddy elbow, you can get it with the flange already fitted for the type s bov. that's what i was thinking of doing when i get enough money for it and a fmic.
