no no you will not gain any power form going single but you will gain weight loss,

best power will still come from a dual (true dual) set up as it alows more flow

i am running stock exhaust manifold and custom 2.5inch piping all the way back into one APEXi Dunk muffler (exit right side)

Best flow, most power(no limit on noise or emissions), I would say go RB header(race is dual out, will have to get a collector, street has a o2 bung and has a 2.5in collector), to single 2.5in MANDREL bent piping all the way out. No silencers, no mufflers..hell, if wanna save more weight with less piping, run it out the passenger side. This would be so loud, that you would WANT to run an INLINE muffler...find something that is small, and none restricive(backpressure). They exist, I've seen them.

As for using this same set up for turbo...nope. You are going to have to switch out the header(get a nice HKS manifold) 3inch downpipe, midpipe..and them do whatever you want after that..I'm all about sticking it out the side..short, less weight, more power.

Buy the way, I have a mild Streetported S4 NA(many mods), with RB header, no presilencer(testpipe) to Dual N1's. I don't like the Duals anymore, too but clutter, cuts power. I am now waiting on my sideskirts so I can run my side exhaust(piping runs through the skirt), I will be running one inline muffler, and 2.5in piping.
