How much will an air intake from checkers help your car is it the one that looks like kind of a funnel and it cost about 25 dallars o yeah its not a cold air its just the filter of an cold air intake

 

what im doing is im using the fc3s airbox and since I dont use the AFM so Im thinking about making a flange for the airbox and just putting a pipe to my turbo..is this better then using no air filter at all...sorrry for the hijack

When I bought my car it had an autozone intake on it, worked just fine for me. A filter is a filter, and especially where I live with so much dust throwing down 50 bucks per cone filter is ridiculous. its not the bast, but it works.

 

I went ahead and tried an APC $15 special from Checker on my truck. Here's what I noticed -



On my way to the mountains to go snowmobiling, I was stopped by the state patrol. After they left, I tried to start my truck and it wouldn't run. After a god 15 mins of crank attempts, I finally got out and pulled off the air filter.. Gues what? It fired immediately! Although it probably doesnt' mean much to have a crappy filter at sea level, it made a huge difference at 10,000 feet. My opinion? They're garbage. They make a cool sound, though.
