I have a 1990 rx7 cconvertible, n/a. I'm looking to install a short ram air intake or maybe a cold air induction. I can't find but a couple short rams online. I'm looking for any suggestions reguarding this. Also, do most of the ram airs come with a hookup from the air pump also?

Don't go with a short ram intake. Although the airflow resistance would be the least in a short ram, you will suck in all hot air. Cold air intakes are more worth the money, but you need to use the right sized piping. I would go no less then 3.5 OD. The length of pipe, diameter and bend all effect the airflow resistance. So making an intake with the least amount of bends and the largest possible diameter piping would be best. Also, get a 3" cone adaptor for the AFM and not a 2.5" like I have seen on ebay. My 3" cone limits my top end a little.

I just recieved my 3.5" OD aluminum tubing and im going to order 45 degree silicone bends and a 3.5" K&N filter or a 3.5" AMSOIL Cone filter for maximum flow. My Intake setup will be ready for the AFM removal when the next S4 Rtek chip comes out. The AFM is so very restrictive, but unfortunatly it has to be to allow the flapper to funtion correctly.

Check out some of the HowTo's of mine that specifically deal with the intake side of an N/A

TB Shaft Modification

Im actually going to modify the shafts a bit more so updated pictures may come in the next few weeks.

Porting 86-91 Intake Elbow

After doing a bunch of math, and reading up on airflow resistance, I found the TB elbow is pretty restrictive. Porting it out should help in the end. Remember, removing restrictions AFTER a larger restriction, such as the AFM, may not do a whole lot.
