12psi~13psi can break them. Run a bit lean and it doesn't matter if you have 5psi or 25psi. You'll get some damage either way. It's all in the tuning.

Good info people!

the main point here is don't go lean and you will never break an apex seal unless you put like 100k miles on it and you wear out the seal so bad it won't hold compression anymore :bigok:

Duh really? You failed to see my point.

A lean A/F will break a 3 mmm seal also.

Stock seals are perfectly fine for higher boost levels.

I didn't feel the need to point out the obvious, yes you need to be tunned correctly.

Umm, you failed to see my point. I was agreeing with you. I've always felt that 2mm stock pieces were the way to go. I've seen engines pop on less pressure. It's always bad tuning. The stock seals consistantly prove themselves worthy.

And yes you need to point out the obvious. Too many people tune their stuff with the butt-o-meter. Why? Because the engine gnomes (close relative of the underpants gnomes) don't immediately hop out of the vents and start pistol whipping the dude with a quickness before something goes pop. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/blackeye.gif Many times I've heard that an engine felt stronger than it ever was right before it pops. Piston or rotary. Running lean can fool people because it feels pretty good.

Soooooo, survey says - stock seals!

jerk racer and fd3boost are correct..... if you try and guess your destined for DISASTER https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif
