12a Power Estimate & tips
#1
Hey people. I just got a 12a for my bug with a streetport, racing beat intake for a holley, and a holley 600. When i drop it in, it will have a pretty free flowing exhaust. How much HP should I be getting out of this motor? Ive been told around 150 some have said about 200. Im not really sure since im new to the rotary scene.
Aside that, anyone have some tips to offer? You know, those old rotary tricks. The guy I bought it from has these spark plugs that look like lawnmower plugs. He also said to use 2 diff plug styles (i forgot whcih he mentioned) for trailing and leading. Any info would be good

depends on who ported the motor, what type of "street port" it is and the holley wont make as much power as a webber. id say 150bhp is pushing on the high end. we have done some road race 12as with street porting that make 180 to 190bhp.
